Jeffreys Bay is one of those places in the world that any boardsport lover must visit at least once in his life. I’m here these days, and loving every second of it. I won’t crush my bones and rip my skin among the waves this time, I’ll just be on the beach, filming and taking pictures of the action in the surf. And what action. Great waves, great surfers, like brazilian Plinio Franca, born in Garopaba in 1983, surfing since 1996 and searching the best waves around the world.
The sequence you see above, was shot at Supertubes, the most famous surf point in South Africa and one of the most famous in the world. They say it’s home of the most perfect wave in the planet, a paradise for regulars. Enjoy Plinio in action, pictures were taken at 14.00 hours local time, on saturday 18th of august 2007.
Jeffreys Bay è uno di quei posti nel mondo che ogni amante degli sport a scivolamento trasversale su tavole dovrebbe visitatare almeno una volta nella vita. Sono qui e mi sto godendo ogni secondo, senza entrare in acqua questa volta, ma semplicemente filmando e fotografando l’azione. E che azione! La migliore onda destra del mondo, la più perfetta, surfata magistralmente da bravi surfisti, come Plinio Franca, brasiliano nato a Garopaba nel 1983, che surfa dal 1996 ed è in perenne ricerca della migliore onda. Nella sequenza che vedete, è da me ritratto, il 18 agosto 2007 alle ore 14.00, mentre surfa Supertubes.
